World's Fair 1893 is a compact area-majority game in which every placement also drafts a growing packet of cards. Five board areas represent major exhibition departments. On your turn, you add a supporter to one area and take every card beside it: exhibit proposals match one of the departments, influential figures grant immediate advantages, and Midway tickets score while advancing the round timer. When enough tickets have been claimed, each area is evaluated; leading organizers earn reputation and receive approval for matching exhibit proposals, while second place may also matter depending on player count. After three scoring rounds, approved exhibits reward breadth across the fair’s five categories. The 2021 edition adds five playable historical figures and a contextual note addressing the exclusion of Black and Indigenous achievement from the original Columbian Exposition.
