Monkey Butt has a high replayability score due to its high variability gameboard, impactful expansions, deep strategic possibilities, and good scalability. The game offers fresh experiences each time it is played and allows players to discover new tactics and strategies. The presence of expansions adds to the replay value, and the game adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the effort.
Monkey Butt has a low influence of luck. The game outcome is predominantly determined by random elements like dice rolls or card draws, with very little room for players to influence or mitigate the effects of randomness. However, players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning, which balances the mix of luck and strategy. Overall, the game is heavily dependent on luck, with little influence from player strategy.
Overview
Monkey Butt is a family friendly casual game that is quick to learn but has a reasonable amount of strategy involved. The object of the game is to not be the last player with cards in hand. This player is the loser, or titular Monkey Butt. Players take turns to eliminate their hand by playing cards that beat the card currently on the discard pile. Special cards can be used strategically to steal opponents good cards, block the use of certain colours or force an opponent to pick up the discard pile, thus adding to their hand. Other players may know some of the cards you have in your hand and hence you must tactically plot a path to eliminate all your cards and avoid being crowned the Monkey Butt.
