Herkules Ameise has a high replayability score due to its high variability gameboard, expansions available, strategic depth, scalability, and moderate easiness to learn. The game offers different experiences each time it is played, with the presence of expansions adding new content and gameplay elements. There is ample room for players to improve their strategy over time, and the game adapts well to different player counts. While it may take some time to learn, it offers a rewarding and engaging experience.
Herkules Ameise has a moderate level of luck involved in the game. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have some ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is influenced by a balanced mix of luck and strategy.
The players are ants building an anthill. They have to finish the anthill before Anthony the anteater reaches them, because only then the ants are safe from Anthony's long trunk. To build the anthill, the players have to find twigs on the back of the path cards. These twigs have to be collected and brought to the anthill, but this only works if a continuous line of ants leads up to them. It's a cooperative game, but the rulebook contains a competition variation as well.
