Fishing begins like a familiar four-suit trick-taking game, then lets every catch alter the cards you will hold next round. Across eight rounds, each captured card scores one point and is shuffled into your personal draw stack. If that stack cannot fill your next hand, you draw fresh cards from the layered ocean deck instead. Those newcomers grow stronger as the game progresses: higher suit values, a green trump suit, zeroes that snag another card, and buoys that bend follow rules, pass cards, steal a trick, or even make the lowest card win. Success therefore creates a rich next hand but delays access to the ocean’s disruptive powers, producing a clever catch-up system and a continually evolving trick-taking landscape.
