Replay value

energi offers a high level of variability with its gameboard, multiple paths to victory, and random elements. The presence of expansions adds to the replay value, and the game provides deep strategic possibilities. The player interaction score is average, and the game scales well with different player counts. While it may take some time to learn, the game offers a good balance between easiness and depth. Overall, energi has a strong replayability score of 7.95.

Luck profile

Energi has a moderate level of luck involved in the game. Random elements like dice rolls and card draws have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. However, players have substantial ability to mitigate the effects of randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, with luck playing a minor role.

Overview

Energi (Swedish for Energy) is an educational game constructued in the 80's. Each player is leading a part of the world ("West" - north America, "East" - eastern Europe, "North" - western Europe and "South" - the middle east, each of these have a slighty different setup) during a ten year period. The goal is to use the natural resources available (Oil, Coal and Uranium) to earn as much money as possible. Money is mainly gained by having factories, but factories need energy and they pollute. To create energy you need power plants, to run the plants you need natural resources which are limited. When creating the energy you also pollute and this you must compensate by cleaning the environment, but to do this you must have energy. So all in all, this is a resouce management game. It is also an educational game and tries to simulate the actual situation in the 80's.
