Bury Me in the Rift has a high replayability score due to its strong variability in the gameboard, expansions available, and strategic depth. The game offers different experiences each time it is played and allows players to improve their strategy over time. It adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the investment.
The final luck score for Bury Me in the Rift is 7, indicating a moderate influence of luck on the game outcome. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game, and players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, with luck playing a minor role.
"Invasion! Your squad of 2 mechs must protect cities from giant monsters, while completing goals to earn upgrades across a 6-game campaign." A solo mechs vs. monsters nanogame. Originally created for the BoardGameGeek 2019 9-card Nanogame contest (where it took 4th place overall, and 1st place for best art), Bury Me in the Rift is a quick, compact solo game where the player controls a squad of 2 mechs to fight off giant eldritch monsters that are attacking cities. Individual games are strung together into a 6-game campaign where the enemies gradually get stronger, and you must upgrade your squad to keep up. The second edition greatly expands the contest version of the game, with more possible card combinations, 2 additional mechs and 2 additional maps, the addition of pilots, and status tokens instead of dice. Bury Me in the Rift is completely inspired by the excellent video game, Into the Breach, by Subset Games.
